Fill-A-Backpack for Youth Adventure
For the second year in a row, Neptune is joining forces with Big City Mountaineers to support providing youth from disinvested communities with transformative experiences.
Big City Mountaineers (BCM) breaks down barriers to outdoor access for young people by providing a variety of experiences that are free of charge, fully outfitted, and professionally guided. By thoughtfully addressing these social, psychological, and material barriers, BCM creates opportunities for youth to uncover their own sources of strength, resilience, confidence, serenity, and joy. BCM and Neptune Mountaineering believe in the transformative power of developing a personal connection with nature.
Starting at the kickoff event on November 17th, shoppers at Neptune Mountaineering will have the opportunity to buy items on BCM's wish list to support this endeavor. These items include:
- Closed-cell foam pads
- Tents & tent stakes
- Gravity filters
- Mess kits, sporks & kitchenware
- Headlamps & batteries
- Compasses & whistles
- Bandanas & mosquito head nets
- Fleece tops
