Box of Candy

STAFF ADVENTURE! Supervisors @blainedavis and @shawnheyland got on some ice. Here's their report:

A few weeks ago we were out on Andrew’s Glacier to practice some crevasse rescue. While exploring the glacier we found this beautiful line just waiting to be climbed. With the wrong crampons and not enough pro, we decided to regroup and come back the next week to see if this 6 pitch MI2 would go. Now, with the right tools, we were standing at the base gearing up for the first ice of the season. Ten hours after leaving the car we finally topped out on the aptly named “Box of Candy”.
Here's some favorite gear that helped get us to the top:

Blue Ice Choucas Pro harness - Great lightweight harness with 4 gear loops and multiple attachment points for ice tool holders.

Mountain Hardwear scrambler 35 pack - Ideal pack for all alpine adventures. The Mountain Hardwear Scrambler has all the necessities and cuts out the extra bells and whistles to be the perfect pack with all the right features while still being extremely light weight.

Julbo Shield sun glasses - The reactive lens is great for variable weather conditions. The side shields keep your eyes fully protected while the glasses are best in class when it comes to keeping your lenses condensation free.

Salewa Alpine-Tec Axe - These lightweight, aluminum shafted, technical mountaineering axes were definitely the stars of the show. For those days with long approaches and moderately steep ice, these tools are a must!
